  • IDLU-UST110-CUO8O-32PP. The Multiswitch unit connects to a Quattro LNB (default configuration) or two Wideband LNBs to support reception from 2 satellites and offers a Terrestrial input port to connect a terrestrial antenna for reception of UHF/DAB/radio broadcasts. The terrestrial signal can be amplified through a dedicated ON/OFF switch and is combined over each of the 8 output ports. The output ports operate in either dCSS/SatCR or Universal (Legacy) mode.

    The Multiswitch unit can be powered through a DC input port, any of the trunk output lines or from the STB output ports (typically using a power inserter device). In typical cascaded MDU installations, the DC voltage supplied over the DC in or trunk output lines is passed through to the trunk input lines in order to power the LNB and the ?STB DC pass to LNB trunk? switch must be set to OFF.

    To help the installer ensure at the time of installation that the unit?s power supply is sufficient to support a full load in the future i.e. 8x STBs with all User Bands activated, the Multiswitch features a special power diagnosis test mode that is triggered automatically upon unit startup.
    During this 15 second test, the Multiswitch simulates operation with full load and will light the power-diagnosis led in green if the unit is supplied with sufficient power or in amber if not. A status led, located next to each output port, indicates the operating mode of the port (Legacy=solid green, dCSS = blinking green, Power diagnosis=blinking red/green).?

    The configuration of the Multiswitch can be customized for different installation circumstances where parameters like LNB type (Quattro or Wideband), the frequencies and bandwidth of the User Bands as well as others can be programed using Inverto?s SatPal??Controller or Unicable II Programmer*.

  • The IDLU-UST110-CUO1O-32P is a small form factor Unicable2 multiswitch enabling installations with up to 32 satellite receivers over a single cable based on digital channel stacking technology. Digital channel stacking technology applies digital signal processing after wideband Analog to Digital converters (full band capture) to select and reorder transponder channels. Compared with analog channel stacking, which is based on analog frequency translation to fixed frequency slots, the digital channel stacking implementation removes the need of in-band SAW filters, offers a full flexibility of channel selection, supports many more set top boxes through a single coax cable, greatly simplifies installations at subscribers homes all at much lower cost and lower power consumption.

    Controlled by the connected receivers over EN50494 or EN50607 protocol, the multiswitch will select the desired transponder channel, convert its frequency to the respective User Band frequency and stack it over the Unicable output ports through Digital to Analog converter (also known as ?Dynamic? mode).

    The multiswitch firmware can be configured to deliver a fixed transponder-to-IF frequency mapping (also known as ?Static? mode) and line up to 32 transponders (depending on the bandwidth of the desired transponders) over the Unicable output ports. This allows for an unlimited number of receivers to be connected to the switch making MDU installations substantially cheaper and simpler than ever before. The operation mode – dynamic or static – output power level, channel bandwidth, UB numbers, center frequencies and the functionality of each of the output ports can all be programmed as well.

    The multiswitch receives (and cascades) 4 satellite IF bands/polarities (LV, LH, HV and HH) and Terrestrial VHF/UHF signals. Both Unicable and Legacy output ports combines the Terrestrial signal. The Terrestrial signal is not amplified. The multiswitch is powered over the supplied AC/DC adapter and power inserter device allowing greater flexibility in various installation scenarios. The communication protocol between the multiswitch unit and the connected receivers is based on EN50494 and/or EN50607 and can be defined per User Band allowing operators to support installations consisting of both EN50494-only and EN50607 compatible Next Generation PVRs and HGWs.

In Static mode, the multiswitch outputs a fixed transponder-to-IF frequency mapping and can line up to 32 transponders (depending on the bandwidth of the desired transponders) over its Unicable output ports. This allows for an unlimited number of receivers to be connected to the switch making MDU installations substantially cheaper and simpler than ever before.

    This multiswitch has 4 satellite inputs that can receive (and cascade) either 4 universal satellite IF bands (LV, LH, HV and HH) from one satellite feed, or 2 wideband satellite IF signals (Horizontal and Vertical) from two satellite feeds. A unique feature of the multiswitch firmware allows to daisy chain two units and combine their outputs with external combiner to support connection of up to 4 wideband satellite IF signals from up to four satellite feeds. It also has a Terrestrial VHF/UHF input. The terrestrial signals are combined over both output ports of the multiswitch.

    The Terrestrial signal is not amplified. The multiswitch has two outputs – by default, one of the ports is configured to function as a Unicable port in dynamic mode and the second is configured to function as Universal (Legacy) and switches to Unicable as soon as it receives an EN50494 or EN50607 command. The operating mode and configuration of each output port – unicable/universal, dynamic/static – output power level, channel bandwidth, UB numbers and protocol, center frequencies and the functionality of each of the output ports are fully programmable through Inverto?s Unicable II Programmer device and PC software tool.

    The multiswitch is powered over the supplied AC/DC adapter and power inserter device allowing greater flexibility in various installation scenarios. The communication protocol between the multiswitch unit and the connected receivers is based on EN50494 and/or EN50607 and can be defined per User Band allowing operators to support installations consisting of both EN50494-only and EN50607-compatible Next Generation PVRs and HGWs.
