Thrane LT-3100S GMDSS System – basic (90-102071)

In 2018, the IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) acknowledged Iridium as
a Recognized Mobile Satellite Service (RMSS) for GMDSS, offering an
alternative to Inmarsat C. The LT-3100S GMDSS system, developed by Lars
Thrane A/S, stands as the sole Iridium GMDSS terminal currently available,
meeting all necessary standards and certification requirements for GMDSS
communication equipment (MED, Wheel mark).

The LT-3100S GMDSS system, designed for the rigors of maritime environments,
provides essential functionalities including Distress Alert, Safety Voice,
Maritime Safety Information (MSI), Ship Security Alert System (SSAS), and
Long Range Identification & Tracking (LRIT).

Performance-wise, this system offers both voice and data capabilities with
complete global coverage. Its components include a control unit, handset, and
antenna unit, linked by a single cable solution enabling up to 500 meters of
separation, facilitating optimal antenna placement for satellite
visibility.

With its robust design, operational temperature range from -40?C to +55?C
(-40?F to +131?F), and straightforward installation process, the LT-3100S
GMDSS system caters to primary satellite communication needs on vessels. It
encompasses voice, SMS, data, vessel tracking, and other Iridium services,
boasting competitive airtime rates.

The installation process is simplified with all necessary components
included in the package. The control unit offers flexible mounting options,
either bracket or flush mount, while the antenna unit can be easily installed
on poles of either 1.5″ or 2.0″ diameter. Additionally, the system
features a large 4.3″ TFT display for intuitive operation and a built-in
webserver for service and maintenance purposes.
