The Icom IC-SAT100 enables instant group communication anywhere in the
world at the push of a button. By using the Iridium satellite network, which
provides global coverage including the polar regions, the radio delivers
reliable wide-area communication across the entire planet.

Satellite PTT Communication

The IC-SAT100 operates using Satellite Push-To-Talk (PTT), a two-way radio
system based on the Iridium satellite network. It is designed for use in
remote or isolated locations where mobile phone or landline infrastructure is
unavailable. Even when terrestrial networks are disrupted due to natural or
human-made disasters, Satellite PTT remains operational as a stable and
independent backup solution.

Unlike traditional satellite phones, users can instantly communicate with
all radios within the same talkgroup simply by pressing the PTT button,
enabling fast and efficient group communication.

Talkgroup Capability and Setup

The IC-SAT100 is quick and easy to configure using the Iridium Command
Center and supports up to 15 talkgroups. Talkgroups can be shared across
users, allowing seamless global interoperability even when different Iridium
PTT handsets are used.

The radio features a waterproof, dust-tight, and durable body with IP67
protection, allowing submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. It
also meets MIL-STD-810G standards and operates reliably in temperatures

A dedicated and easy-to-locate emergency key allows users to send emergency
alerts to pre-programmed contacts.
